One of the most common goals people want to achieve when they step in the gym is that nice classic V-taper. If you are not familiar with the phrase V-taper, let me explain it to you. Its narrow in the waist and wider in the shoulders. So with these five exercise I am gong to show you, we are going to learn how to grow shoulders correctly working the Anterior, Medial and Posterior heads properly. So that you can get that boulder shoulders and have that classic V-taper.
Exercise 1: Overhead Press.
The standing barbell overhead press one of the best exercises for you shoulder development. it is going to work all three heads but it is also going to work your core. When you are standing and you are pressing the weight overhead, it's actually going to raise your center of gravity. So it is going to require lot more bounce in the core. Also you can go really heavy with it.
Exercise 2: Dumbbell Lateral Raise.
This exercise is great for helping isolate the Medial head of the Deltoid. One thing you always got to remember is the Anterior or front Deltoid which is the secondary muscle group which is built by the pressing motion for the chest. And the Posterior or rear Deltiod is a secondary muscle group which is built by pulling exercises. Now the Medial head of the Deltiod is not a secondary muscle group worked in anything. So you always have to isolate it that way properly developing the shoulder. And the Dumbbell Lateral Raise is going to help do that.
Exercise 3: Lying Delt Raise.
This is a very rare exercise and very good for isolating the medial head of the Deltoid. So what you do is lie on the floor, putting the low cable on a pole and going straight up. Helping to gain nice contraction in the medial heal of the Deltoid. The good thing is the cable is going to contain the constant tension throughout the whole motion.
Exercise 4: Upright Rows.
Between overhead press and upright row, these are two great compound movements work for total shoulder development. So the upright rows is going to help work all heads of the Deltoid. It's also going to work the traps.
Exercise 5: Bradford Press.
This is a great exercise to either start your workout to help with shoulder mobility and warm ups or to end it to help totally burn out your shoulders. To do it, start it exactly like a regular shoulder press. You need to press the barbell straight up and rotate your shoulders back pulling your chest up and lowering it behind the neck.
